Our first-year PhD student, Omi Nakagawa, won the Best Student Paper Award at WI2019 for his presentation.

Title] Graph-based Knowledge Tracing: Modeling Student Proficiency Using Graph Neural Network
    Summary
This research aims to improve the task of “knowledge tracing”, which predicts the proficiency of each student based on the student’s learning logs on an online educational service. We proposed a method for formulating student proficiency using Graph Neural Networks based on the relationship between contents as a graph structure, and improved the accuracy and interpretability of the prediction compared to conventional methods.
