Announced partnership with Google to support implementation of generative AI models and training of AI human resources to help solve regional issues throughout Japan.
The Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory of the Department of Technology Management Strategy, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo (“Matsuo Lab”) has announced a partnership with Google to support the implementation of generative AI models and the development of AI human resources to help solve regional issues in 47 prefectures across Japan by 2027. The partnership will support the implementation of generative AI models and the development of AI human resources in 47 prefectures across Japan by 2027.
The use of AI and other technologies is considered to be one of the solutions to social issues facing Japan, such as an aging society and declining workforce. Against the backdrop of such social issues, in this partnership, Matsuo Lab course graduates and Google engineers will work together to build a model of generative AI that will help solve the prefecture’s problems and contribute to AI human resource development through its implementation.
As a first step, we have begun working with Osaka Prefecture to eliminate employment mismatches, and will continue to work with Hiroshima Prefecture and other prefectures in the future.
