■概要
According to the WHO, the world is entering a stage of rapid aging, with the population aged 60+ projected to reach 2.1 billion by 2050 and those over 80 tripling to 426 million. This rapid aging brings more older adults living alone, caregiver shortages, and growing pressure on traditional eldercare models. Robotics and artificial intelligence(AI) emerge as vital tools for health monitoring, rehabilitation, cognitive training, and socially assistive companionship, aiming not only to support daily needs but also to enhance overall capabilities and quality of life (QoL). However, the true challenge lies in moving beyond simple substitution to systems that actively foster autonomy, safeguard independence, and uphold dignity in later years. This Workshop will spotlight the critical role of robotics and AI in addressing the challenges of aging societies. Discussions will cover state-of-the-art methodological innovations, technical and ethical challenges, and future perspectives that will shape the next generation of intelligent systems. Through Invited Talks, Panels, Posters, and Industry Spotlight, and by bringing together researchers, frontline caregivers, young scholars, and industry stakeholders, the workshop seeks to advance cross-disciplinary collaboration and champion a human-centered vision where technology supports autonomy and independence in aging societies.
