A review paper titled “Real-World Robot AppA review paper titled “Real-World Robot Applications of Foundation Models: A Review” authored by Project Associate Professor Tatsuya Matsushima and Project Researcher Andrew Gambardella from the Matsuo–Iwasawa Laboratory has been awarded the Advanced Robotics Best Survey Paper Award.
The Advanced Robotics Best Survey Paper Award is presented to outstanding papers published in Advanced Robotics, the international journal issued by the Robotics Society of Japan.
This paper provides a comprehensive review of research trends on the application of foundation models to robotics. It was co-authored with Professor Hiroyasu Kawarazuka of the University of Tokyo JSK Laboratory, Jiaxian Guo (currently at Google), Chris Paxton (currently at Agility Robotics), and Andy Zeng (currently at Generalist).
