    Matsuo-Iwasawa Lab in the University of Tokyo has officially opened applications for GCI World 2026 April, an online educational program focused on artificial intelligence and data science.

    GCI World 2026 April is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in data science, serving as an entry point for those aspiring to pursue careers as data scientists. The program is free of charge for students and is delivered entirely online, allowing participants to join from anywhere in the world.

    What is GCI?
    The Global Consumer Intelligence (GCI) course by Matsuo-Iwasawa Lab in the University of Tokyo offers a hands-on learning experience that covers everything from “the purpose of studying data science” to “Python and machine learning fundamentals” and “practical data application in business settings“. The course is designed to prepare students to take their first steps as data scientists. The Matsuo-Iwasawa Lab translated it into English and launched it worldwide under the name “GCI Global”. The launch of this course received a tremendous response. In 2025, a total of 7,700+ students from 430+ universities in 30+ countries around the world including Africa and ASEAN applied to take the course.
